Moon Tide Gallery, the brainchild of 23-year-old Baltimore producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Mason Gainer, has released his new single, ‘Television’. It’s a psychedelic, noisy track defined by apocalyptic instrumentals that ebb and flow alongside Gainer’s powerful, double-tracked vocal. Guitar distortion crescendos into oblivion alongside the distant swirls of synth, before gently bringing us back down to earth with more mellow, folky accompaniments. “What started out as a stripped folk-style song with just guitar and vocals slowly morphed into this psyched-out wave of noise,” he explains. “Television is based off the idea of a dead thrill. What is inflicted and endured to bring it back to life and the comfort in stagnation.” The new EP from Moon Tide Gallery, Stop Looking At Me Like That!, is out on June 6th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
